How To Get Rid Of Pimple Scars Using Medical Approach

Pimple is a type of acne infection. It is generally experienced on the face, the back or any area of the body but most often, it is experienced on the face. Pimple scars evolve due to picking, pressing or scratching of pimple. Many people get frustrated at the sight of pimple scars.

These scars can even make you feel worse than the pimple itself. They make the face look rough, and at times, they don’t clear out over time. There are ways and treatments that can help you can get rid of these scars.

Laser Resurfacing

This is a new procedure that can be used to clear pimples and pimple scars. It is still under analysis for its capability, on long term results. Laser resurfacing involves the use of laser lights to remove pimple scars. Currently, only CO2 laser and YAG laser are used for treatment. It is possible that your doctor prefers one of these lasers to the other, but both of them achieve the same thing. The laser works by removing the upper damaged layer of the skin for new one to regenerate. The recovery time takes some weeks.

Augmentation: this involves the injection of Fillers (collagen) under the skin, this will smoothen the pimple scarred area. It is also possible for the doctor to remove fats from parts of your body and inject rather than collagen. After this treatment is performed, you can resume your daily chores because it has a very short recovery time. However, you should know that this treatment is temporary.

Dermabrasion: this is a coarser treatment that removes further skin layers. This process is very similar to rubbing your face with sandpaper. The face is numbed followed by the removal of layers through Sanding. Scabbing of the skin will occur during the recovery period; new skin will develop after the scabs fall out.

Punch Technique: the scarred skin will be punched and removed. Skin graft behind the ear is taken and placed on the area where the scar has just being removed. On completion, it can be combined with Dermabrasion or Laser Resurfacing. A graft is not needed for replacement if the skin area is small. For shallow scarring, it is possible to punch the upper layers of the skin away and then allow the lower layers to heal and come out. It takes a lot of weeks to recover.

Generally, nobody likes to have scars. However, some people don’t bother to get rid of pimple scars on their face, while some people can’t live with these scars; especially women. See a dermatologist help you out with the treatments.
